I’m looking to upgrade my 4Runner to all-LED exterior lighting. Who here has experience buying from superbrightleds.com?

Kinja'd!!!

The prices seem reasonable and they have what looks like a pretty comprehensive vehicle fitment guide which makes finding all the bulbs I want much easier than mixing-and-matching on Amazon.

Update: I was at Canadian Tire and noticed that they’re now selling Philips brand LED bulbs for automotive applications. I’m going to look into this more because the prices looked competitive.

I’ve thought about doing this to my ‘09 Accent - already have LED reverse bulbs. I’ve thought about getting LED headlight bulbs like Andrew reviewed awhile back, but not sure how long they would last or how effective they would be...

I find the stock bulbs somewhat dim, especially on low beam. I replaced them with some slightly higher-model Sylvania bulbs, but they are still not up to my preference.

I don’t have any experience with superbrightleds.com, but I did replace some of my lights with led’s like the one pictured. After about a year I had to replace a few off them. They quit working, and after taking them out I noticed rust on the contacts, and the little circuit boards were swollen/warped from moisture. I would suggest getting sealed leds for exterior lighting.

I’m planning on doing everything except the headlamps. The 4Runner has great lamps and when the time comes I’ll upgrade the bulbs to Sylvania SilverStar Ultras, which I’ve been using in various other cars for years now.

So you’ve had good luck with the Ultras? I forget which model Sylvania bulbs I put in my Accent (I THINK I have Sylvania Xtravisions...?).

They replaced the factory bulbs (which still worked), but the Xtravisions still don’t seem to have that much more light output than the car originally had. High beam is OK, but low beam seems really dim coming from my 2002 Subie Impreza with headlight-sized fog lights a few years ago, haha!

I have ordered from them before. I had no problem.

I’ve bought a few bulbs from them. They have good pricing, but I think Diode Dynamics has better quality bulbs.

Hmmm, I hadn’t thought of this. I’ll look at the options available.

Never heard of them, but I’ll check them out. Thanks.

The Ultras are the top of the SilverStar line. They don’t try to pretend to be HID bulbs, like the zxe model, they’re just bright. They don’t last terribly long, though, especially when you have daytime running lights.

Your dim lighting could also be an alignment problem, or just poor reflector design.

While I haven’t bought anything from them myself, they are based relatively nearby (Saint Louis Metro area), and their responses to inquiries have been prompt and accurate. It’s a real relief to have someone who is not only on the same continent as yourself but who also natively speaks the same language being on the other end.

I buy from them all the time.. Have for a couple years. They ship really fast and never had an issue with anything I bought from them. Highly recommended...

A friend of mine that does a ton of LED work for people uses this site exclusively and hasn’t had any issues.

Good to know, thanks! I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger (I just need to stop thinking about how much the exchange rate hurts).
